I appreciate an article of this type...I have tried doing some of what was written here. I have tried to reach out to others and care and listen. I have called, sent notes of encouragement and even met with people now and then. But are there times when you come to the end of your resources, you burn out and wonder how to reconnect and become refreshed again? How to have positive relationships that are 2-way...give AND take.

Sometimes after years of reaching out, things grow stale. Many relationships seem to be life-taking instead of life giving, and as much as you want to connect with others, it appears as though the only ones who will connect with you are those who have a need and sap your strength.

I guess I'm needing some renewing of the mind and refreshing of the spirit...or something.
