Dear Praying Friends,

Yesterday we received a note from Dan Coffin, pastor of Small Point Baptist Church in Phippsburg, Maine. We know Dan and his wife Kathi from several conferences we’ve led in that area. Dan told us several years ago that he loves riding his motorcycle. Thus this email:

This Sunday is our Third Annual Biker Sunday//Blessing of the Bikes.  Want you to know you are and will be in my thoughts and prayers as we share Christ with the “unlovely” by the world’s standards. We will begin with a hearty Biker Breakfast, followed by a presentation by the Director of “The Root Cellar” in Lewiston, ME – a ministry striving to make a difference in the poorest and most crime ridden neighborhood in a city which has undergone a phenomenal rebuilding – in some parts of the city at least!!

We will share in worship, honor Vets from all 5 branches of our Military, and then give a Gospel message. We will then have the “Blessing of the Bikes” before riding to the Root Cellar to sponsor a Block Party with Bikers, Vets, and kids, many of whom are Somalian refugees who have relocated to the city. Please pray that our example will touch bikers, encourage the volunteers at the Cellar, and inspire the neighborhood to explore Jesus in the form of His real love toward them.

As our gift to the bikers and Vets, we will be presenting both the NIV New Testament (Hope for the Highway) a Biker oriented edition, and. . .  Anchor for the Soul!! We have enough left for this year too! Praise God for the generosity of your ministry and donors, the love and faithfulness of Small Point Baptist Church folk, and the support of so many in our community who appreciate our integration into their lives through God’s love in action.

Underneath that Dan wrote in large letters: "Miss you and wish you were here!!” We feel the same way. Maybe next year we can be there in person for the "Blessing of the Bikes.” What a wonderful way to minister to the bikers in the Mid-Coast region of Maine.

We’re sending out this note to ask you pray for Pastor Dan and all who will attend Small Point Baptist Church on Sunday morning. We’re delighted to provide copies of Anchor for the Soul for this worthy outreach in the name of Christ.

Pray that God will use this event to create bridges of friendship so that many bikers will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Thank you for being part of the Keep Believing Prayer Team. Let us know how you are doing and how we can pray for you.

God bless you!

Ray and Marlene
