Dear Praying Friends,
Sometimes we get a glimpse of God’s work in progress.
A few days ago a friend sent a note about how God is using An Anchor for the Soul:
I just wanted to let you know how one of your “Anchor” books is being used. A woman who moved into our area rented a house from one of the elders in the church. Because of him, she started attending church here. She also has a serious gambling problem. That’s how my wife and I got involved with her. We’ve been meeting with her weekly, going through “Anchor” one or two chapters at a time.
Today we came to chapter 8, “Coming to Christ.” I asked her what she thought after reading the chapter. She said it showed her that “I’m not ready to make a full commitment of faith yet.” That wasn’t the response I was hoping for, but she is counting the cost. She isn’t ready to accept the changes that Christ will bring to her life. I’m still praying that the Lord will soften her heart – and make her desperate for Him.
In her youth she attended a Catholic church, a Seventh Day Adventist Church, a Baptist Church, and was influenced by a grandmother who followed Santeria rituals. It sure is good to have a book that explains the gospel in such clear language.
That’s an amazing letter because it shows that this woman is thinking seriously about what it means to follow Christ. We’re grateful for our friends who are spending time with her week after week. Please join us in praying that very soon this woman will become a whole-hearted follower of Christ.
Last year we reprinted 100,000 copies of Anchor. At present we have only 23,300 copies left. Because God has opened so many doors, we expect to run out in the next few months. We’ll need around $65,000 to cover printing and shipping costs for another 100,000 copies.
Would you join us in praying about this need?
If God puts it on your heart to help out, you can give using our online donation page or by mailing a check to Keep Believing Ministries, P. O. Box 257, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
We do need your prayers for the overall financial needs of the ministry during the summer months. Today marked our 187th China broadcast. In our next update we’ll share some of the responses we’ve received from listeners.
On a personal note, thanks for your prayers as we traveled to the Midwest last week. Ray had a great time speaking at the Moody Pastors Conference and at the Chinese Bible Church retreat in Indiana. Plus we got to see quite a few friends in Chicago.
We’re very grateful for your prayers. During these days at home, we’re gearing up for a busy summer of ministry. We’re asking God to prepare us so that we can touch many lives for Christ.
Thank you for being part of the Keep Believing Prayer Team. Please let us know how you are doing.
God bless you!
Ray and Marlene
