I have a dream….

I dream that one day our president and Congress will apologize and say they are sorry…

Sorry for stealing from our children and grandchildren and accumulating $14 trillion in national debt.

Sorry for lying about a $3.6 trillion annual budget that can’t possibly be funded.

Sorry for being so enamored with government and power and socialism and for essentially regulating the private sector out of existence.

Sorry for killing the economic engine that drives this country and provides jobs, as well as education, transportation, healthcare, houses, churches, and schools for our country’s middle class and poor alike.

Sorry for making it legal for the wealthy and the healthy to literally exterminate those they see as inconvenient: The unborn who are unwanted and the infirm who are unattractive.

Sorry for being so arrogant as to redefine marriage and the family even to the moral detriment of our kids and our culture, and, thus, to set aside 5,000 years of human history.

Sorry for sexually exploiting women and having the audacity to do so under the banner of equal rights, gender equality, and non-discrimination.

Sorry for enslaving minorities to the will and the power of the plantation master known as the welfare state, all the while singing songs of reconciliation and preening with pride at being multicultural and post-racial.

I dream of a day when our leaders will say that they were wrong, that they lied to us, and that they are ashamed. I dream that they will ask for forgiveness from the people they harmed and from the God they ignored. I dream that the American people will then rise up and applaud such unbroken honesty and that God will forgive such broken men.

Just a dream?

Maybe. But without dreamers dreams can never come true.
