Thought- “In my deepest wound I saw your glory and it dazzled me.”- Augustine

Scripture- “Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.” – Isaiah 58:8

Insight: In all of our souls, there are areas of darkness that need to be healed and only can be when the light of Christ is allowed to shine into those dark areas. This is always hard for us to allow Jesus to take a scalpel to those areas of darkness, but it is for our maximum benefit. Then energy release that takes place when we allow Jesus into those unsavory areas of our lives, an of our pasts, to do His cathartic work, will startle us as Augustine alluded to above, and it will free us up to live more powerful lives. God’s divine therapy alone is what begins to restore us as we learn to receive His love and eventually share it with others. That is the beginning of the reconciliation that all of our souls desperately need.

In my own life, I have witnessed God’s healing touch first-hand. He did in fact dazzle me with His love, patience and grace which were far deeper than I ever imagined, both consciously and unconsciously. It seems the bigger mess we make of our lives, the more He extends His grace to us, as He patiently waits for our surrender. I had deeper pain that I ever realized. I had more hidden sin than I ever knew. But in His love, He showed it to me, cleansed me and then began the restoration process. It was painful but necessary, much like extracting a tooth gone bad. The pain was sharp and intense, but the energy release after was the moment in my life where my faith got catapulted into a new orbit. Praise God for His great fountain of energy that we can tap into whenever we are ready to rekindle our zest for life.

Prayer: Father God, your love, grace and faithfulness amazes us and truly reaches to the heavens. Where would we be without you? I am not sure; I only know it would pale in comparison to life with you. Thank you for letting us experience you through your Son Jesus, our hope and redeemer. Amen!
