Do you know Him?

Do you know Him?

Thought- Do you know Jesus?

Scripture- And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” -Revelations 19:16

Insight: As we see the world devolving right before our eyes into deeper chaos, political upheaval, divisiveness and hatred, and with global catastrophic events unfolding with seemingly more and more frequency, we must ask ourselves a simple question: What is going on? I believe the Bible is clear that before the return of Jesus to the earth a second time, humanity will experience the birth pains that precede his arrival. Mark 13:8 says “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.” I am not going to discuss those signs and predictions in any more detail, I will leave that to the experts in Eschatology, but I do think it is critical to ask yourselves a very important question: Do you know Jesus? Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior? The Bible says He can show up at any time. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 says “for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” For those who have rejected Christ or turned away from the salvation He freely offers, the end times on this earth will be treacherous beyond anything we can imagine.  Maybe you should rethink the value proposition of denying the deity of Christ. You wouldn’t make a bet in Vegas where the best you can do is tie, but if you lose then you lose everything. That is what those who reject Jesus are betting.

So, with all of that in mind, here are a few things to consider when pondering just who Jesus is and what He accomplished the first time He walked on the earth for a mere 33 years and why you might want to follow him as  your personal Lord and Savior. No one has ever done anything close to what He did, because no one else was God in human flesh, come to earth to offer us a lifeline for our sins and to fulfill the scriptural predictions of the Messiah as foretold by the Jewish prophets of old.

  1. IN CHEMISTRY, HE TURNED WATER TO WINE.
  2. IN BIOLOGY, HE WAS BORN WITHOUT THE NORMAL CONCEPTION.
  3. IN PHYSICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF GRAVITY WHEN HE WALKED ON WATER AND THEN LATER, ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN.
  4. IN ECONOMICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURN BY FEEDING 5000 PEOPLE WITH 2 FISHES & 5 LOAVES OF BREAD.
  5. IN MEDICINE, HE CURED THE SICK AND THE BLIND WITHOUT ADMINISTERING A SINGLE DOSE OF DRUGS.
  6. IN HISTORY, HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END, THE FIRST AND LAST, THE ALPHA AND OMEGA.
  7. IN GOVERNMENT, HE SAID THAT HE SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, AND  PRINCE OF PEACE.
  8. IN RELIGION, HE SAID NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM.
  9. HE HAD NO SERVANTS, YET THEY CALLED HIM MASTER.
  10. HE HAD NO DEGREE, YET THEY CALLED HIM TEACHER.
  11. HE HAD NO MEDICINES, YET THEY CALLED HIM HEALER.
  12. HE HAD NO ARMY, YET KINGS FEARED HIM.
  13. HE WON NO MILITARY BATTLES, YET HE CONQUERED THE WORLD.
  14. HE COMMITTED NO CRIME, YET THEY CRUCIFIED HIM.
  15. HE WAS BURIED IN A TOMB, BUT ON THE 3RD DAY HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN AND HE LIVES TODAY.

His name is Jesus, do you know him?

Prayer- Father God, may the Holy Spirit fall on the earth and give those whose eyes have been covered by the enemy the eyes to see clearly the truth of who Jesus is and why He is the only hope in the World. Let our prideful rebellion fall away and let us acknowledge that all human wisdom has failed and that only the wisdom from you God will prevail in the end, through your Son, whom you have given all inheritance to. We pray in the power of Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord and Savior. Amen!
