Don’t ever give up hope!

Scripture- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Insight: Have you ever made such a large mistake in your life you wondered if you could ever overcome it? Have you thought there is no way God could restore you from the pit of your self-imposed grave? Are you in a place now where you are so full of regrets that you feel like your life is meaningless and that you have lost any chance for things to turn out the way you hoped for or imagined? Well, if any of those things are true, I have great news for you: You are wrong! As the thought of the day above states, my “beautiful friend, you simply don’t have that type of power.” In other words, God gets the final say on how the end of your story will be written. Oh, you do have a critical decision to make: You can continue on trying to do things your way, or you can acknowledge on bent knee that your way led you to the place of despair you find yourself in now, and you desperately need God to help you! Here’s the next bit of good news: He will!

I witnessed this first hand in my own life, when after 37 years of doing life my way, with no relationship at all with the Lord, and in many ways acknowledging that my life was not where I wanted it to be even though on the outside I had many of the things the world said should make me content, I asked Him into my life and repented of all of my foolish decisions I had made apart from Him. He responded in a deeper and more intimate way than I could ever imagine, and He restored my purpose in life and gave me a new and deeper understanding of what successful living looks like. He made it clear, He had big plans for my life, in spite of all of my failures. It was true for me then and it is true for you now: It is never too late to start over, and don’t give up on God because He most certainly hasn’t given up on you!

Prayer: Father God, help us to feel the depth of your love and you never give up, on ourselves or on you, because you never give up on us. You love us more than we can fathom and there is no sin great enough to separate us from your love. Help us to repent and turn back to you when our failures seem insurmountable. We pray in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
