His lover never stops

His love never stops.

His love never stops.

Thought- We have given God countless reasons to stop loving us, but because of His grace He never has.

Scripture- “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven; whose sins are covered.” – Romans 4:7

“as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” – Psalm 103:12

Insight: – I heard it say once that we will never realize the depth of God’s love for us until we realize the depth of our sin. Have you ever asked God to reveal the depth of your sin to you? I did once and it was both startling and deeply cathartic. Startling because there is so much “hidden” sin in our lives, areas we just gloss right over, or don’t give a second thought to, but we should. We can only repent of what we are willing to admit is sinful in our life and then bring it to the surface and reveal it in the light for God to forgive it for all time. This experience is deeply cathartic because it removes the unseen forces of sin that are weighing us down, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Once we acknowledge it and ask God to forgive us, we create new space to experience the incredible depth of His endless love and the power of His grace. Then, we repeat this as needed, which for me is almost daily.

Tears strolled freely down my face as God both revealed the depth of my sin and His greater depth of love for me. I felt so cherished in spite of all of my shortcomings. It was the most alive I had felt in my lifetime. God is so good, but we need to take the first step and enter into His examination room. Not so we can feel condemnation or scorn, but so in fact we can maybe for the first time see how much He loves us ins spite of the depth of our sin.

Prayer: Father God, we can’t rightly even begin to fathom the depth of your love for us. Our sin is an abomination to you, but you don’t treat us as our sins deserve, instead you meet our sin with your incredible and life changing grace. What can we do but worship you with all our hearts. Amen!
