We've had a glorious fall in Colorado this year. The mornings and evenings have been cool and the days delightfully warm. Aspen trees have painted the forests bright shades of yellow and gold. But as an illustration of just how quickly the tide of life can turn, I thought I would share four photos with you.  They were taken  from the same location here on our campus over the course of the last six days.  How do they strike you?

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot...

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-2)

“Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile.”

William Cullen Bryant

My friend and former Focus colleague, Reverend H.B. London, used to suggest that when storm clouds descended upon Pikes Peak he was always reminded of an important truth:

Even when we can't see or feel God's presence in our life, He is still always there.

"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend all the daylight hours in the open air."

Nathaniel Hawthorne

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it

Psalm 24:1
