If you're looking for a convicting, uplifting, encouraging and redeeming film, Courageous, which opens today nationwide, is it.courageous2.jpg

You're likely familiar with the makers of this terrific movie, Sherwood Pictures, a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.  Previous projects include the award-winning Fireproof, Facing the Giants and Flywheel. Focus on the Family is delighted to offer all of these films on DVD. To request your copies, please click here.

But what's Courageous all about?

From the movie's website:

Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.

While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they're quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering.

Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God ... and to their children? Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous.

I'd invite you to watch a brief behind-the-scenes video of the movie. And once you see the film, please let me know what you think - and how the experience may impact you and your family's life. I admire these good men and women who have poured themselves into this missional outreach of using traditional film to lift up God's higher truths. They are deserving and worthy of our applause and support!
