"She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her:

“You are the God who sees me,” for she said,

“I have now seen the One who sees me"

(Genesis 16:3).

My Prayer

Psalm 139:1-4

"O Lord, you have searched me
and you know me.
 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O Lord."

Dear Alek,

Just because you sit in the middle of our family, your position does not make you invisible. When life gets hurried and I call out a combination of all of your names--KyleAlekMaddy--that doesn't mean I've forgotten which child you are. You are mine, but you are also a child of God. And He never gets too busy to remember just your name alone.

He knows everything about you.

I am going to prayer for myself today, that God would give me his eyes when I look at you.

Prayer:

Lord, You know Alek's comings and goings. You crafted him from the inside out. I miss a lot in his life because he is the middle child, the loner, the flexible flyer, the one who can be easily overlooked. Forgive me for that. Put him in front of my eyes and my heart the way he stands in front of Yours. Show me how to love him the way he needs to be loved. Thank you.

The Journey

Who are YOU praying for today?

Even Jesus prayed.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark,

Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place,

where he prayed” (Mark 1:35 NIV).
