A serious vehicle crash took place on Tennessee State Route 385 Eastbound and Ridgeway Road. The driver was pulled from the burning vehicle and everything else inside was burned up, except for a Bible on the vehicle’s front seat which police found completely unscathed.

Fox 13 reports that the crash occurred on Sunday afternoon when a car sideswiped the jeep which caused the jeep to spin out of control on the side of the road.

Eugene McNiel who was driving on 385 and saw the crash, rushed to the scene and, with help from others, pulled the driver out of the jeep to safety before the vehicle burst into flames.

"I jumped out of my truck -- that's the fastest I've ever ran," McNiel said. "I didn't care. I wanted to save that man's life because I don't want to see (anybody) get burned up in (a) car."

Memphis Police Department officials found the Bible on the front seat of the vehicle after the crash. It was the only thing untouched by the flames.

"That is God," McNiel said. "You don't believe? (Then) I don't know what to say."

The driver of the jeep was transported to Regional One with non life-threatening injuries. The people in the car that hit the jeep are also in stable condition.
