Boko Haram Kills over 100 in Cameroon

Boko Haram militants have attacked a town in north Cameroon, leaving behind over 100 dead. Christian Today reports that the terrorists stormed the town of Fotokol, killing civilians in their homes and a local mosque. 

A local civic leader reported the attack on Wednesday (Feb. 4). 

"Boko Haram entered Fotokol through Gambaru early in the morning and they killed more than 100 people in the mosque, in the houses and they burned property," the local leader, Abatchou Abatcha, said. 

A Cameroonian newspaper reported that many dead were found with their throats slit. 

Cameroonian information minister Issa Tchiroma said that Cameroon’s security forces successfully pushed the terrorists out of Fotokol after heavy fighting; the clash left Boko Haram members dead as well as six members of Cameroon’s army. 

The brutal terrorist group was responsible for the deaths of over 9,000 people last year as it pushes to establish an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria and the surrounding regions.
