Chick-fil-A has been ranked as the most polite fast food chain because of the genuine friendliness of its employees.

QSR Magazine completed its annual survey of restaurant chains and came to the conclusion that Chick-fil-A not only ranks first in most polite fast food chain, but also makes the greatest revenue per restaurant.

Fifteen fast food chains were studied in the survey which found that Chick-fil-A employees were the most likely to say “please” and “thank you” and to smile at customers.

In fact, Chick-Fil-A employees reportedly said “thank you” in 95.2 percent of drive-thru encounters, reports Aol.com. In contrast, McDonald’s employees said “thank you” in 78.4 percent of drive-thru encounters.

"It's all about speed and accuracy, but we know our customers appreciate that we can be nice while being fast and accurate," Mark Moraitakis, senior director of hospitality and service design for Chick-fil-A, told QSR. "Eye contact and smiling go a long way in the drive-thru experience."

Chick-fil-A is intentional about providing a positive customer experience. The chain pairs employees who are compatible to work the drive-thru window together, and it also sends employees out with tablets to take customers’ orders if the line gets too long.

These customer service strategies are paying off. Despite criticism from some due to its CEO's pro-traditional marriage views, last year Chick-fil-A made nearly $4 million per store, compared to the $1 million made by individual KFC stores.
