Christian comedian and actor Vernard “Bone” Hampton is fighting in a hospital to recover from congestive heart failure and kidney failure.

According to a GoFundMe page, Hampton first was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and then his kidneys shut down because of fluid in his heart and lungs.

As he tries to recover, he could face a lengthy hospital stay and rehabilitation, CBN News reports.

Hampton is 49 years old and has a son. He appeared on “America’s Got Talent,” “Less Than Perfect,” “My Name is Earl” and “Comic View.”

“Despite the obstacles, his family and friends are confident in God’s healing power, and we look forward to the day when Bone is restored to full health,” the GoFundMe page says. “But he needs more than just our prayers and well wishes. His doctors have already informed and even ordered him to remain off the stage indefinitely, pending significant improvement in his heart and kidney function.”

The fund has raised some $54,000 of a $100,000 goal.

“This will be a long journey back to health, but we can help ease the worry and anxiety that result from the inability to work and provide. If you can bless Bone Hampton financially during this very trying circumstance, please contribute to his GoFundMe,” the page says. “All the money raised will be used to supplement his lost income and to pay for his mounting medical expenses.”

Comedian Chondra Pierce, who Hampton has previously toured with, posted on social media that she hoped others would continue to pray for Hampton.

“My dear friends, please keep praying for my dear friend Bone Hampton,” she said.

“The Real” co-host Loni Love said she is praying for “peace, comfort and miracles” for him.

Hampton is the winner of a Dove Award for “Comedian of the Year.” He previously played football at the University of North Texas.
