Christian Group Predicts God Will Destroy the World on Wednesday

A Christian group headquartered near Philadelphia believes that God will destroy the world today, Oct. 7. The eBible Fellowship, an online community of Christians led by Chris McCann, said that God will destroy the world with fire.

McCann said, “God destroyed the first Earth with water, by a flood, in the days of Noah. And he says he’ll not do that again, not by water. But he does say in 2nd Peter 3 that he’ll destroy it by fire,” McCann said.

This is not the first time that eBible Fellowship declared an exact date for the apocalypse. The group previously declared May 21, 2011 as the day that this would occur.

McCann said, “According to what the Bible is presenting it does appear that 7 October will be the day that God has spoken of: in which, the world will pass away. It’ll be gone forever. Annihilated.”

According to the eBible Fellowship’s most recent calculations, “judgment day” occurred on May 21, 2011. On that day, God decided which churchgoers will survive the apocalypse. Today, 1,60o days later, the world will

cease to exist for good.

The Guardian reports that McCann allowed room for error.

“There’s a strong likelihood that this will happen. Which means there’s an unlikely possibility that it will not,” he said.
