Many people are outraged at a Canadian ice-cream company for calling themselves Sweet Jesus Ice Cream and and putting Satanic symbols on their ice-cream packaging.

Relevant Magazine reports that, although people aren’t often up in arms over ice-cream, the Canadian ice-cream company Sweet Jesus Ice Cream is inviting criticism by their name and by their decision to use imagery and lettering that evoke associations with satanism.

The ice-cream company is also expanding its customer base to the United States, which has opened it up for even more criticism. It currently has a location in Baltimore, Maryland and plans to open another location in the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota, according to USAToday.com.

In addition to the company’s name, Christians are upset over their use of an upside down cross and lightning bolt shaped “S” on their packaging.

Christians who are offended by the company have started a petition against them at Change.org.

“We, as Christians, are deeply offended by the name Sweet Jesus. This is a mockery of taking the Lord’s name in vain and highly offensive to Christians,” reads the petition.

The petition also calls for a boycott of the ice-cream chain.
