Both Marco Rubio and John Kasich need to win their home states in primary elections Tuesday or face an unavoidable truth to drop out of the presidential race.

While Donald Trump leads in polls for Florida, Rubio said a win in his home state would generate "a surge of momentum that they will not be able to stop."

Rubio, who launched quickly in popularity, has since faded in recent weeks. He has only won three Republican contests: Washington, D.C., Minnesota and Puerto Rico.

He was a surprise winner in the 2010 U.S. Senate race, according to USA Today, but his campaign has hit a “series of roadblocks.” One being that he wasn’t the only Floridian in the race: former governor Jeb Bush was also in the crowded Republican presidential field earlier in the race.

Still, Rubio is campaigning on the platform that a Trump win would be a “disaster.”

"Who wants to live in a country where everybody hates each other?" Rubio said.

Kasich, however, leads in polls for his home state of Ohio.

"I’m going to be the Republican nominee after we win Ohio," he said.

North Carolina, Missouri, and Illinois are also holding Republican primary elections Tuesday.

Trump has 460 delegates. Ted Cruz has 370 and Rubio has 163. Kasich has 63.

Cruz has said that only he and Trump are contenders to earn the Republican presidential nomination.

"If Donald Trump is the nominee, Hillary wins," Cruz said.
