Employees of a Salem, Oregon Domino’s Pizza are being hailed as heroes after saving a customer’s life.

According to the Huffington Post, Kirk Alexander had been ordering pizza nearly every day since 2009. When the staff noticed Alexander’s orders hadn’t come in for 11 days, they sent a delivery driver to check on him.

Domino’s manager Sarah Fuller said, “He orders every day, every other day. His order pops up on the screen, because he orders online. So, we see it come across the screen, and we’re like ‘Oh, Kirk’s order.’”

When delivery driver Tracey Hamblen arrived at Alexander’s residence, he saw that the lights and television were on, but Alexander did not answer the door or respond. He then called 911.

Deputies responded to the scene where they found Alexander calling for help and in need of medical attention. He was taken the hospital, where he is now in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office wrote in a statement on Facebook, “The (Marion County) Sheriff’s Office would like to personally thank Mr. Hamblen for his quick actions and willingness to take time out of his day to care for others.”

Fuller said, “[Alexander is] just an important customer that’s part of our family here at Domino’s. He orders all the time so we know him. I think we were just doing our job checking in on someone we know who orders a lot. We felt like we needed to do something.”
