Fans of the HGTV show “Fixer Upper” are upset that Chip and Joanna Gaines will be releasing a Magnolia/Target line at Target.

Some fans of the Waco couple say the couple shouldn’t collaborate with Target, a company that has received criticism itself for its liberal policies.

"I don't shop Target anymore. I wish you would had followed your Christian values instead of the almighty dollar. Lost a little respect," tweeted one woman.

“Very disappointed that as Christians you choose Target for your brand. Many Christians no longer shop there and my family still will not,” another tweeted.

The criticism stems from Target’s policy that “welcomes transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

Reactions were mixed when the couple announced last week that the line, called Hearth and Hand, would release Nov. 5 in stores. The collection has items priced from $9.99 to $129.99.

“With our friends, our family and with the people we do business with, we are serious about continually finding common ground," he said. "We are thankful to get to work side by side with the people at Target. We believe we are going to build something really beautiful together and that our positive impact will be far greater now than it would ever be apart,” Chip said in a blog post.

The couple has also said that a portion of the proceeds from the collection will be earmarked for the Magnolia Foundation, a charity that helps families in need.

“One of the main reasons we decided to team up with Target is because we have found them to be the gold-standard when it comes to generosity and giving," he said. "This really resonates with us. Jo and I believe that to whom much is given, much is required. As our platform has grown, so has our desire to help communities far beyond Waco, Texas.”
