Republican lawmakers are reportedly preparing to release an Obamacare replacement bill this week, according to FoxNews.com.

GOP lawmakers said that they are finalizing the bill and will soon make it available. "We are now at the culmination of a years-long process to keep our promise to the American people," said AshLee Strong, a spokeswoman for House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Democratic lawmakers have accused the Republicans of being secretive about the new bill, but Republicans have assured them that the bill will soon be released and available for scrutiny.

“This plan will be out next week, and everybody will have a chance to see it,” said Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter, a pharmacy owner and Republican member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Republicans, including President Trump, have said that repealing and replacing Obamacare is one of their top priorities. It was also one of the primary issues of focus in Trump’s presidential campaign.

Republicans have attempted to assuage fears about the repeal and replacement by assuring Americans that they will not lose their healthcare, even if they have pre-existing conditions, and that lawmakers will keep the part of the ACA which allows children to remain on their parents’ healthcare plan till the age of 26.
