A gospel choir in the Philippines has broken the record for the largest gospel choir performance.

Christian Today reports that Church of God International in Manila formed a chorus of 8,688 singers which belted out God’s praises in their 15-minute performance.

Araneta Coliseum was packed with an audience gathered to hear the record-breaking performance.

The gospel choir nearly doubled the old record which was 4,745 singers. The singers sang “Praise the Name,” “Hallelujah, Amen,” and “Enrich the Spirit,” all original compositions of choir leader, Normal Caraballo Rueda.

The Guinness World Records adjudicator who was present was so overwhelmed by the emotional performance that she was brought to tears.

“Largest Gospel Choir - our adjudicator Fortuna was overcome with emotion,” Guinness World Records tweeted.
