ISIS militants have abducted 120 children from schools in Mosul, according to reports. The kidnapping spree took place only two days before the one-year anniversary of Boko Haram’s abduction of 276 schoolgirls from a school in Nigeria.

An unnamed source told IraqiNews.com, "The ISIS organization militants abducted 120 children aged between 12 to 15 years from their schools in Qayyarah, Shoura, Badush and Baaj district south and west of the city of Mosul.”

The Christian Post reports the children were hauled away in military trucks; officials believe the children will be taken to ISIS training camps known as “Cubs of the Caliphate,” where they will learn to serve in the terrorist group.

Rami Abdulrahman, of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told Reuters, "They use children because it is easy to brainwash them. They can build these children into what they want, they stop them from going to school and send them to IS schools instead."

ISIS militants will likely hold abducted children of the wealthiest families at ransom, expecting parents to pay high amounts to make money for the terrorist organization.
