An ISIS suicide truck bomb killed 115 people and injured almost 200 in Baghdad Sunday (July 3). The attack was the deadliest Iraq had seen since July 2015.

ABC News reports the bombing occurred at a marketplace in the central Karada district. The area was filled with people celebrating the end of Ramadan.

The dead included 15 children. Twelve people were also missing after the attack and feared dead.

Witness Karim Sami, a street vendor, said, "It was like an earthquake. I wrapped up my goods and was heading home when I saw a fireball with a thunderous bombing.”

"I was so scared to go back and started to make phone calls to my friends, but none answered,” he continued.

At another location in Baghdad, a roadside bomb exploded in a Shiite neighborhood, killing five people and wounding 16. ISIS did not claim responsibility for that attack, but officials believe it had the hallmarks of the terrorist group.

The White House responded to the attacks, condemning the acts of terrorism.

National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said, "These attacks only strengthen our resolve to support Iraqi security forces as they continue to take back territory from ISIL, just as we continue to intensify our efforts to root out ISIL's terrorist network and leaders.”
