The Israeli government has decided to cut funding from Christian schools, which has led to an accusation of discrimination.

Father Abdel Masih Fahim, a representative of Christian Schools in Israel, says the government’s decision to cut funding of Christian schools from 75 percent to only 29 percent is evidence of discrimination.

Many claim that the last remaining Church of Scotland school is a beacon of hope in a country that experiences constant violence and unrest.

According to Christian Today, the school does not restrict pupils to the Christian faith, but accepts students from all faiths and fosters an atmosphere of tolerance.

The school is called “Tabeetha” and is described as “an oasis.”

“Within the Israeli state system, it's clear that they don't recognise necessarily the Christian and the Muslim faith, so children going there, their teaching will be solely based on the Jewish religion,” Church of Scotland’s Middle East secretary, Kenny Roger, warned.

Roger added that if the Christian school closes, many families who send their children to the school would leave the country entirely.
