Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, began on Wednesday (Sept. 24) at sundown; as Jews observe the religious holiday, the ceasefire that was established between Israel and Hamas appears to be holding.
Israeli and Palestinian officials agreed Tuesday (Sept. 23) that further talks would be postponed until the end of October. Previously, the opposing groups negotiated a ceasefire with an understanding that Hamas had greater demands including a water port, airport, and opened borders in and out of Gaza.
Also Tuesday, officials learned that Marwan Kawasme and Amer Abu Aysha, the two men responsible for the murder of three Israeli teens in June, had been killed by Israeli forces.
