Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson spoke about his faith in a recent town hall, stating, “I have to admit to praying once in a while, and, yes, I do believe in God.”

TheBlaze.com reports that Johnson responded to the questions about his faith in a recent CNN town hall. In addition to saying he believes in God, Johnson said he was raised a Christian, but does not actively attend church.

Moderator Chris Cuomo pressed Johnson for more information regarding his faith views: “I mean, is the answer it’s none of your business? Or do you go to church? Do you ascribe to a particular religious philosophy?”

Johnson responded: “If there’s one thing that I’ve taken away from Christianity, [it's] do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”

Johnson and running mate Bill Weld, a former Massachusetts governor who had worked in Ronald Reagan’s Justice Department, want to present themselves as an alternative to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Johnson’s campaign seeks to distance him from the name-calling that has characterized much of Trump’s and Clinton’s campaigns.

Instead, stated Johnson, “We’re going to keep this to the issues, and the issues are plenty.”
