A list of the U.S.’s most sinful cities has been compiled and released by the website WalletHub, and Las Vegas, Nevada tops that list.

WalletHub.com reports that the cities on the list were measured based on these criteria: “Anger & Hatred,” “Jealousy,” “Excesses & Vices, “Greed,” “Lust,” “Vanity,” and “Laziness.”

“[W]e calculated the overall score, or WalletHub Vice Index, for each city based on its weighted average across all metrics and used the resulting scores to rank-order the cities,” explained the conductors of the study.

It is perhaps no surprise that Las Vegas--the so-called “Sin City”--took the number one spot on the list. Other cities ranking high on the list are Henderson, Nevada, Detroit, Michigan, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tampa, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana, reports The Christian Post.

Nearly every major U.S. city ranked on the list (which included 182 cities), many within the top 50; including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Portland, Houston, Washington D.C., and New York City.

"From beer-loving Milwaukee to hedonistic New Orleans, the U.S. is filled with people behaving badly. No place is innocent. We all have demons,” WalletHub says of the report.

Some cities, however, like Richmond, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania became “less sinful” this year. Both ranked in the top 10 last year, but now they have slipped down the list to place 27th and 30th, respectively.
