Man behind Undercover Planned Parenthood Videos Indicted by Grand Jury

The founder of the Center for Medical Progress, the organization behind the undercover Planned Parenthood videos, has been indicted by a grand jury.

David Daleiden, the 27-year-old pro-life activist, has been accused of the felony charge of tampering with a governmental record, as well as a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs, which, ironically, he only did as part of his videos meant to expose Planned Parenthood for allegedly harvesting and selling fetal body parts.

Daleiden has been indicted along with another pro-life activist, according to Life News. If convicted, Daleiden could face 20 years in prison.

The Center for Medical Progress’ undercover videos purport to show Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast headquarters in Houston, Melissa Ferrell, discussing the extraction and sale of fetal body parts.

In the videos, Ferrell appears to say that Planned Parenthood purposefully aborts babies with their bodies  intact so that their body parts can be sold to research companies.

Though Daleiden has been indicted, Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson said that “the grand jury cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing.”

However, Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated, “The Health and Human Service Commission’s Inspector General and the Attorney General’s office have an ongoing investigation into Planned Parenthood’s actions,” said Governor Abbott. “Nothing about today’s announcement in Harris County impacts the state’s ongoing investigation. The State of Texas will continue to protect life, and I will continue to support legislation prohibiting the sale or transfer of fetal tissue.”
