Ministry to Distribute Hundreds of Bibles to Immigrants in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

The Illinois-based evangelical Christian nonprofit The Bible League International recently announced plans to distribute Bibles and discipleship information to immigrants living in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.
According to The Christian Post, the organization is hoping to distribute the literature to the migrant communities to celebrate International Day of the Bible, which is on November 21.
The goal, BLI Regional Training Director Harold Trujillo told The Christian Post in an interview, is to distribute around 500 adult Bibles, 2,500 evangelical materials and 2,500 discipleship materials. The group also plans to hand out Easy-to-Read versions of the Bible for children and additional material for youth.
Trujillo shared that he believes the area surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth is a "key place" to share the gospel with "different ethnic groups."
"To reach out to those people who really are in need of help and in need of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ, and especially some of those people who travel from different countries, Dallas has become one of the hubs in the southern belt where the people [are] coming across," Trujillo told the Christian news outlet.
"Our mission is to engage them with the Bible and use the local churches. And we train the local churches, and we equip them, and we provide them with the materials they need to reach them."
BLI will also be working with Centro Evangelistico Hispano Church in Mesquite and IDD Life Fellowship en Español in Hurst, two prominently Hispanic churches in the area, to host outreach events as a part of the initiative. Centro Evangelistico Hispano Church in Mesquite will host an event on November 11, and IDD Life Fellowship en Español in Hurst will host one on November 13.
"In order for us to reconnect with them, we started making some meetings with the pastor of this group to [figure] out what their needs are, how we can fulfill the needs of the church in the midst of this pandemic," said Trujillo, also noting how essential it is to build relationships within immigrant communities.
According to statistics from New American Economy, there are currently 1,461,995 immigrants living in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area.
