Morgan Freeman, who has had a distinguished acting career, was recently accused of sexual harassment by eight women.

The accusations of the women were detailed in a recent CNN report, according to the IndieWire.com.

One of the woman worked with Freeman on the film “Going In Style.” She said that Freeman attempted multiple times to lift up her skirt and asked her if she was wearing underwear. He also reportedly gave her unwanted comments on her body and her clothing.

Two women who worked with Freeman on “Now You See Me” had similar testimony of Freeman giving them unwanted comments on their clothing and their bodies.

“He did comment on our bodies,” says one of the women. “We knew that if he was coming by not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted.”

Other women who accused Freeman of sexual harassment interviewed him as members of the press. All the women said they did not immediately speak out about the sexual harassment because they did not want to lose their jobs.

Freeman has won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film Million Dollar Baby. He has starred in many films and received many awards throughout his acting career. He also was the host of The Story of God, a series on National Geographic that explored different religious and questions about faith.

Freeman has issued this statement following the allegations:

“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”
