North Korea Publicly Executes 80, Some for Owning Bibles

Around 80 people were executed earlier this month in several cities across North Korea, reports the Korea JoongAng Daily. This group is believe to be the first large-scale public execution enacted by the regime of Kim Jon-un, Supreme Leader of North Korea. Foxnews.com also reports on the story, saying that most of the victims killed in the city of Wonsan were executed for illegal trafficking of South Korean movies, prostitution, or possessing a Bible. Sources describe one execution as taking place in a large stadium where 10,000 people (including children) were forcibly gathered by authorities and made to watch the machine-gun executions. Accomplices and relatives involved in the crimes of the victims were in many cases sent to prison camps.
