According to ABC News, later today the White House -- possibly President Obama himself -- will likely announce an attempt to "accommodate" faith-based groups upset over a new requirement to provide health insurance to employees that fully covers all forms of contraception and abortion-inducing drugs. The move, however, "will almost certainly not satisfy bishops and other religious leaders since it will preserve the goal of women employees having their birth control fully covered by health insurance," says ABC. Meanwhile, Christian leaders continue to speak out against the mandate. "We want the law changed, or else we're going to write our letters from the Nashville jail, just like Dr. King wrote his from the Birmingham jail," said Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, calling on Christians throughout America to oppose any infringement on the First Amendment.
