Christian-run businesses Hobby Lobby and Conestoga continue their suit against the Obamacare mandate to provide contraception coverage (“including some drugs that can be abortifacients”), as reported by the Christian Post. The administration must successfully contend that the governmental interest of this mandate outweighs the concerns of Hobby Lobby, and currently its argument is for “promoting women’s health, preventing unintended pregnancies, and promoting gender equality.” According to the Beverly LaHaye Institute, such conclusions are “based upon faulty reasoning and flawed research.” Catherine Short at the Life Legal Defense Foundation insists that no employer “should be forced to pay for drugs and devices that do nothing to promote health but instead end human lives."
