Pastor Eugene Cho and basketball star Jeremy Lin recently teamed up on a trip to Thailand to learn about sex-trafficking and how to help victims.

Cho is the pastor of Quest Church in Seattle and the founder of a nonprofit. Lin is an NBA star who is known not only for his skills on the court but for his Christian faith. The perhaps unlikely duo both share a passion to combat sex trafficking.

Lin reportedly reached out to Cho, according to Relevant Magazine. Lin knew Cho runs One Day’s Wages, a nonprofit that seeks to provide solutions to those suffering from extreme poverty. Through his organization, Cho has also worked to help those who are victims of sex slavery, which is often closely tied to poverty.

Cho agreed to welcome Lin along on his trip to Thailand and documented the trip on Instagram. A 2016 report revealed that around 425,500 people are living in slavery in Thailand, which is 0.63 percent of the country's total population, so there is much work to be done.

“When @jlin7 and @onedayswages began our partnership this past year, I was taken back that he didn't just want to make a financial donation but shared that he and his team also wanted to genuinely learn more about the various issues of global justice - both challenges and hopeful aspects,” wrote Cho. “We talked about taking a trip together but I honestly didn't think his team would follow through. Not that I questioned their heart but his schedule is crazy and he's constantly training. Add my schedule - even without training. But by God's grace, it happened.”

Lin is often vocal about his faith. In an interview with The Christian Post he stated, “The most important part is the relationship itself. I mean, when you think about your relationship with Christ, it really just affects every aspect of your life. I think a lot of people try to segment off, ‘This is church, so this is God, and then this is my daily life, and this is my job.’ But I think true faith is when it manifests itself in every single aspect of your life.”
