A Chinese baby who was born prematurely and then was pronounced dead and put into a morgue’s refrigerated cadaver compartment has miraculously come back to life.

LifeSiteNews reports that little An An was born at only seven months gestation. He was kept in the hospital for treatment until his father, Lu, insisted on bringing him home for Chinese New Year.

While An An was home, however, he became increasingly ill and his father rushed him back to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An An was then taken to a morgue where he was placed in a refrigerated cadaver compartment, awaiting his cremation the next day.

Miraculously, though An An had been in the refrigerated compartment all night with temperatures as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit, funeral home workers heard him crying in the morning and quickly pulled him out and contacted his father.

Doctors are astonished at An An’s survival.

“Having been a pediatrician for over 20 years, I can't really understand how this miracle happened," An An's pediatrician, Dr. Chen Shuanghua, said.

An An has been taken back to the hospital for treatment where workers are calling him a “miracle child.”

Doctors say that his chances of surviving are still slim, however.
