Russia to U.S.: Get out of Syria

Russia launched airstrikes into Syria this week, according to Breaking Christian News.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the airstrikes were part of a pre-emptive attack on Islamic State soldiers who have overtaken parts of Syria and Iraq.
However, United States officials and others are worried that Russia may have targeted opposition groups to ISIS.
This week, Russian officials issued a demand to the United States to move its warplanes out of Syria.
Then this week, Russian lawmakers voted to give Putin the approval to send troops into Syria. Putin last received approval for sending troops overseas in 2014. Those soldiers were sent to the Crimean Peninsula.
In late September, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter reportedly spoke with his Russian counterpart in a phone call. It was reportedly the first military-to-military discussion between Russia and the U.S. in more than a year.
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, also visited Russia in late September to start coordination talks.
According to BreakingChristianNews.com, the United States and Russia have differing opinions and visions for the Middle East. Russia’s airstrikes are thus seen as a sign that “America is losing influence in the region.”
