Selena Gomez recently performed her song “Nobody” at a Hillsong concert and has opened up about the experience of performing a worship song.

The Christian Post reports that the 23-year-old star is a regular attendee of the Hillsong churches in the U.S. She recently surprised Hillsong concert attendees by coming on stage at a concert in Los Angeles and performing her song “Nobody,” which she has revealed is about God.

"No oxygen, could barely breathe

My darkest sin, you've raised release ...

No one compares, could ever begin

To love me like you do

Hmm I wouldn't want them to

Cause… Nobody's gonna love me like you," say some of the song's lyrics.

Gomez identifies herself as a Christian and frequently mentions Jesus and references Bible passages on her social media accounts.

"First time I ever lead [sic] worship," she wrote in an Instagram post, referring to the Hillsong concert. "I got to perform my first worship song I ever wrote. So grateful for His grace and understanding."

When she took the stage to perform “Nobody,” Gomez stated, "Tonight is more than a concert, it's more than Hillsong, it's more than me coming on stage and singing a song for you. It's about a relationship that is greater than anything, guaranteed.”

Gomez has also previously stated that she personally knows Hillsong singer and songwriter Brooke Fraser and that she loves Hillsong’s music.

"I love Brooke Fraser, she's my favorite; and I have the pleasure of knowing her and she is incredible. I love Hillsong as well. I love all of their worship, I'm a sucker for all of it," she said. "And the new Young & Free is so good I got to hear some of it before it came out."
