Terrorism Suspected in Crash of Plane Heading from Paris to Cairo

Planes and ships searched the Mediterranean Sea Thursday for EgyptAir Flight 805 after the plane disappeared from radar.
According to CNN, the plane is presumed to have crashed into the water on its way from Paris to Cairo.
The plane apparently “swerved then plunged” and then descended into the Mediterranean Sea, Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos said.
Weather conditions were reportedly clear at the time, CNN meteorologist Pedram Javaheri said.
The plane had 66 people on board and so far there’s no known cause on the presumed tragedy, but authorities are starting to suspect a terrorist attack.
“Planes today just don’t fall out of the sky,” CNN aviation analyst Miles O’Brien said.
Said Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sharif Fathi: “But if you analyze this situation properly the possibility of having a different action aboard, of having a terror attack, is higher than having a technical problem.”
So far, US. officials believe the flight may have been taken down by a bomb, but that theory hasn’t been confirmed.
Two floating objects were spotted about 200 nautical miles southeast of Crete, but it’s unclear if those objects are parts of the missing plane, a spokesman for Greece’s Hellenic National Defense General Staff said.
