Thousands across America Protest Trump Presidency

Protesters in several cities around the country took to the streets Wednesday night to protest the election of Donald Trump.
CBS News reports that a major protest took place outside Trump Tower in Manhattan. An estimated 7,000 to 10,000 people flooded the streets and chanted “No Trump! No KKK! No racist USA."
Many also held signs saying #NotMyPresident.
The protest in New York City began at 6 p.m. and continued late into the night.
Police reported that most protests around the country were peaceful, though in several cities, people were arrested, and the NYPD said they were looking for two men who may have been carrying Molotov cocktails at the protest.
In Los Angeles, protesters burned an effigy of Trump, and in Portland and Richmond they blocked major roads and Interstates.
One young college student in Boston expressed why she joined the protest: “We were so close to seeing the first woman become president and she lost to a man who has no political experience, who doesn’t represent the majority in this country,” said 19-year-old Meaghan Schaefer.
"I'm just really terrified about what is happening in this country," said another protester, 22-year-old Adriana Rizzo who was part of a protest in Chicago. Rizzo held a sign that read: "Enjoy your rights while you can."
Others are hoping that Americans will come together and work toward unity rather than divisiveness.
Today, Trump is scheduled to meet with President Obama at the White House.
