Tim Tebow Returns to the NFL with Philadelphia Eagles Contract

Christian football star-turned sports analyst Tim Tebow is returning to the NFL to play for the Philadelphia Eagles. According to USA Today, Tebow is set to sign a contract with the team today (April 20).

Tebow has not played in the NFL since 2012 when he was the New York Jets’ quarterback. Prior the to the 2013 season, he participated in training camp with the New England Patriots.

The outspoken Christian had previously expressed his desire to return to the NFL. In an June 2014 interview, Tebow told KSAZ‑TV that he was training to come back and putting his faith in God in the meantime.

“One of my favorite quotes is, ‘I don’t know what my future holds, but I know who holds my future,’” he told the news agency. “And that it gives you peace to just continue to work and go after what your heart desires and when you do that you don’t have any regrets and I think that’s the best way to live life.”

Tebow previously played three seasons for the Denver Broncos, leading the team to a playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said last month that he has “always been a fan of Tim.”

“We bring in a lot of players for private workout, it’s just he’s the one that everyone keeps talking about.”
