Tim Tebow Reveals Father Has Parkinson’s Disease

Popular Christian athlete Tim Tebow has revealed that his father has Parkinson’s disease and that this has caused him to think about starting a family.
Tebow saw success in his football career, but after it began to wane and he was cut from a number of NFL teams, he turned for a time to sports broadcasting with ESPN. Now, the 29-year-old is pursuing a career in baseball and has signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets.
As if that does not keep him busy enough, Tebow also recently released a new book titled Shaken which he says is about the “highs and lows” of life and how to remain grounded through life’s storms.
Tebow said he is able to weather life’s storms and disappointments because “I know where my identity lies.”
The latest trial in Tebow’s life came when he got news of his father’s battle with Parkinson’s disease.
His father’s illness made Tebow think about starting a family soon so that his children will be able to meet his father.
“I want my kids to know my dad and to learn the same lessons from him that I did,” he told the People magazine. “That would make me happy.”
“Baseball takes a lot of time, and it’s not like I don’t have several other full-time jobs. But I’m definitely ready for a relationship and I’m looking forward to it,” he continued. “I can’t wait for that, and I can’t wait to have kids.”
Tebow is not currently in a relationship, but he says he is trusting God on the timing.
“I can’t wait, but I think it’s something that I’ll have to trust God for. He’ll bring someone along at the right time. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want it, though!”
