Minor League Baseball player and household name, Tim Tebow, suffered a hand injury this past weekend, and is expected to end this season early.

The Mets’ Minor League OF was swinging his bat and broke a bone in his right hand. He will have surgery today to repair his hamate bone, but insiders are saying the season is over for Tebow.

“Another Setback for Tim Tebow,” Jim Denison reports, as Tebow is no stranger to career bumps in the road, having played briefly for three NFL teams, however; Fox News asserts he is a fighter:

“Though pundits and pontificators will likely suggest this setback could be the final nail in Tebow’s unlikely rise to Major League Baseball, I wouldn’t be so sure,” they continue, “Tim Tebow’s been able to consistently get up because he looks up to a God who he loves – and who he knows loves him.”

Baseball is not the only thing in Tebow’s life. He recently confirmed his relationship with former Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters: “She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life. I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful,” Tebow told ESPN.

A native of South Africa, Nel-Peters, like Tebow, “has a heart for those struggling with disabilities”:

"My half-sister was born without a cerebellum and is completely disabled. She is my biggest motivator and inspiration, because her situation makes me realize how special life is and I always want to work twice as hard, enjoy life twice as much so that I can enjoy it for her as well. Therefore each experience I encounter is that much more special," she told Miss Universe.
