Toddler's Bedtime Prayer Caught on Baby Monitor Goes Viral

A toddler’s bedtime prayer in her crib has gone viral after her parents posted a video of the precious moment online.

CNN reports that 2-year-old Sutton Whitt of Seneca South Carolina prayed on her own after her parents hurriedly put her to bed during Sunday night’s NFC championship game. Parents Kathryn and Caleb Whitt went back downstairs to continue cheering for the Carolina Panthers, but heard their daughter speaking in her room.

"We started hearing noises upstairs," said Kathryn Whitt, a teacher at a Christian preschool. "We then pulled up the baby monitor on my cell phone and hit record."

The baby monitor captured the toddler thanking God for everyone from her parents and grandparents to Santa Claus. She ended the prayer with a joyful “Amen.”

Whitt said, "I was just shocked at her age that she wanted to think through everyone she wanted to pray for.”

Whitt posted the video to social media to share with friends and family, but it quickly skyrocketed to internet fame.

"Almost immediately people from all over were sending us messages saying that this touched their hearts,” she said.
