Torah Scroll Which Was Confiscated by Nazis in Process of Restoration

An old Torah scroll is currently undergoing a restoration process to bring it back to its original condition.
According to SRNNews.com, the scroll, which dates back to 1880, is being restored at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, New York. After its restoration process is complete, the scroll will be used in services for Calvary Hospital’s Jewish patients.
The scroll was initially damaged when Nazis confiscated it during World War II, along with many other Jewish artifacts which the Nazis seized from Jewish communities.
A rabbinical restoration team is working to fix creases, tears, and holes, and to re-ink fading words which were originally written with a quill feather.
The entire restoration process of the scroll is estimated to cost up to $100,000.
