The drama and controversy surrounding billionaire Donald Trump and his 2016 presidential campaign continues as his invitation to a RedState gathering in Atlanta is rescinded in the wake of his off-color comments to moderator Megyn Kelly during last Thursday’s Republican debate.

In a comment to CNN the day after the debate, Trump stated in reference to Kelly that “there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever."

According to ABC News, Trump has since clarified that he was referring to Kelly’s nose, but the controversy persists.

Trump has asserted that Kelly became very angry after she asked him a question about the insulting language he used on Twitter to refer to women. In a quip that made the audience laugh and applaud, Trump said that he didn’t use insulting language for anyone else--"Only Rosie O'Donnell."

According to Trump, this interruption and the response it engendered from the audience made Kelly very mad, thus his comment about blood coming from her eyes and elsewhere.

Trump’s clarification notwithstanding, his comment about Kelly has caused Erick Erickson, Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of RedState, to revoke his invitation to Trump to attend RedState’s upcoming event in Atlanta.

In response to the revoked invitation by the leader of the conservative political blog, Trump’s campaign has declared that Erickson is a "total loser" who "has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns."

On RedState’s website, Erickson reports that “[M]y RedState email is suddenly maxed out due to a flood of very angry emails. I’ve been called queer, an n-word lover, Megyn Kelly has been referred to as the c-word.” He added that he was inundated with calls at his hotel and had to disconnect the phone lines.
