Trump’s Plan for His First 100 Days in Office

Donald Trump became the 45th president of the United States in an unprecedented election that went into the early morning hours of the day after Election Day, November 9. Now that Trump is the president-elect, Americans are closely analyzing his earlier-released “Contract with the American Voter” in which he lays out his plan for his first 100 days in office.

Gene Veith, writing for Patheos.com reports that the Trump campaign released the document back in October, but at the time it didn’t get a lot of attention.

“What follows is my 100-day action plan to Make America Great Again. It is a contract between myself and the American voter — and begins with restoring honesty, accountability and change to Washington,” the document begins.

The plan is broken up into three parts: actions to clean up corruption and special interest in Washington D.C., actions to protect American workers, and actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law.

In the first section, Trump pledges to propose a Constitutional Amendment imposing term limits on all members of Congress, to impose a hiring freeze on all federal employees except for those in the military, public safety, and public health, and to enact a lifetime ban on White House officials being able to lobby on behalf of a foreign government.

In the second section, Trump pledges to renegotiate NAFTA or to withdraw from the deal, to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, to label China as a currency manipulator, and to lift restrictions on job-producing energy reserves such as shale, oil, natural gas, and clean coal.

In the last section, Trump pledges to cancel all of President Obama’s unconstitutional executive actions, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities, and implement a serious vetting process for all immigrants, particularly those coming from countries where terrorism is a major threat.

Trump also outlines in the plan the legislation measures he will present to Congress.
