President Trump has said that he has chosen his Supreme Court nominee and that his pick will be announced tomorrow evening.

This morning, Trump tweeted:

Last, week, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Neil Gorsuch was reportedly a top contender for the nomination to fill the vacancy left by conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away in February 2016.

LifeNews.com reports that Gorsuch is still a frontrunner for the nomination, but others speculate that Trump may instead nominate Eleventh Circuit Judge William Pryor.

Both Gorsuch and Pryor are conservative judges and both have made statements affirming their pro-life stance--something many conservatives care deeply about and a major reason many voted for Trump.

Trump vowed during his presidential campaign to appoint a Supreme Court Justice “in the mold of Justice Antonin Scalia” who was a staunch conservative presence on the nation’s highest court.

In keeping with his conservative, pro-life views, Pryor has called Roe v. Wade the “worst abomination in the history of constitutional law.”

He also stated, “I believe that not only is [Roe] unsupported by the text and structure of the Constitution, but it has led to a morally wrong result. It has led to the slaughter of millions of innocent unborn children.”

Gorsuch also condemned abortion and is also a strong advocate against assisted suicide, about which he has written a highly-praised book, laying out his arguments against it.
