The U.S. Air Force Academy struck down a complaint by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) which claimed it was unconstitutional for Air Force Academy cadets to pray before football games.

According to CBN News, Military Religious Freedom Foundation President Mikey Weinstein, an Air Force Academy alumnus and former military lawyer, called the act of Christian cadets praying before games a “disgrace” and a “putrid example of fundamentalist Christian supremacy, triumphalism and exceptionalism."

The MRFF had published a cartoon showing Air Force Academy cadets kneeling on prayer rugs while facing east toward Mecca. The MRFF said the purpose of the cartoon was to make a statement that if the cadets had been Muslim instead of Christian, the decision would have been different.

After investing the complaint, however, the Air Force Academy said players are allowed to follow their own religious beliefs.
