The Price to Pay
by Berni Dymet

2 Tim. 2:22 Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

I used to be addicted to cigarettes.  Now, I knew smoking would kill me - but I was addicted.  Until one day, I watched someone die of lung cancer.

I never smoked again.

And you know something - that's one of the reasons so many people give Jesus a miss.  Sure - they believe He is who He says He is.  But if I give my life to Him - then I'll have to give up this stuff I'm addicted to.  And I don't want to give it up, even though I know it'll kill me.

If that's you - then today, today is a wakeup call.  Giving up smoking is one of the most difficult things I ever had to do.  But the benefits - health, life, extra money - they've been amazing.

Turning our lives around from all that stuff we know is wrong was always going to be hard.  It is.  I had to do that too.  But what an amazing life it's been ever since.
